Law of Goal Setting in Our Daily Activities

Law of Goal Setting in Our Daily Activities

Goal setting is the act of setting a target for a particular task or project which we hope to complete or accomplish within a time frame. All goals are achievable if only we could discipline ourselves to pursue them.
Theory of goal setting suggests that it can serve as effective tool for making progress in our career by ensuring what they must do to achieve an objective. If you don't set a goal for that business in small way today, you may never get the chance of becoming a hero tomorrow. Planning is the factor of a goal setting that gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It is important in a man's life, don't neglect it, else it leads to failure. The size of your dreams will determine the size of the person you will be. It helps you to develop skills and to organize your time and your resources so that you can achieve success in your life-time.
Every notable achievement recorded in human history is a product of law of time and goal setting. God set the goal of creation and this came to fruition. The following questions are relevant as a guide to setting targets in any area of life:

a- Where? This is a question of Direction. Where will my career take me to?

b- What? This is a question of purpose. Of what relevance is this goal and objective to me?

c- When? When would this career/business be achieved? When a good idea drops in your mind, no matter
where your are, stop and write it down, it might be the idea that would take you to your new world. Your determination can take you to your destination.

d- Who? This is a question of personality; who shall benefit from the end product of my careers and to whom shall be the glory/favour?

Every fact of life requires that an individual has a goal or objective for achievement in mind. This is necessary in order to have a yardstick of measuring progress at the time of stock taking. We have six stream-lined areas.

1- Spiritual: Your relationship and level of faith in God, the creator.

2- Financial: This has to do with monetary and financial blessings. How much do you want to earn at various stages of production?

3- Business: This is the work of your hand. What level do you want to reach in your career? Your today's today labour and difficulties are the raw materials for your future enjoyment. Champions are men of courage and patience. Courage will make you conquer any problems.

4- Social: Your associates and influence on your work, for example Facebook.com, Nairaland.com etc

5- Shelter/Protection: Your physical building and the environment of your dwelling place.

6- Education: What information and skills will you need to break through and achieve your desire goals?
Every journey begins with a destination in mind, before being embarked upon. So your life's journey must be directed by concrete, achievable goals. Set them and pursue them and you would see yourself achieving them. After all, a journey of a thousand miles, says the Chinese adage begins with a single step. Remember, that step must be in the right direction.

Agriculture Waste As a Wealth Creation

Agriculture Waste As a Wealth Creation

Agricultural Waste has become an embarrassment to countries. The dump sites cause health hazard to the people despite federal and state government effort. Poultry farmers face a nightmare with the waste generated by what they rear, such as chicken, pigs, and cows especially. In fact the odour generated in some farms portends dangers to the community, the farm owners and the staff. Reuse, Recycling, and Waste reduction offer jobs opportunities for communities by collecting the waste with care, and upgrading or processing them and making a lot of revenue out of it. This is one of the areas wealth creation could be established.
Do you know that in some Asian Countries - China, India, this waste that constitutes problems for our nation is economic empowerment especially in the area of power generation?

What does this mean?
a- Poultry manure can be turned into dried, little pellets of fertilizer to be sold to farmers?
b- Leftover chicken parts such as heads, feet and feathers can be made into ingredients for animals feed?
c- Chicken and pig manure can be burnt to generate gas or electricity?
d- Chicken and turkey manure can be turned into a "toxin-grabbing char" that would be able to purify water on many industrial and factory farming pollutants?
e- Turning chicken feathers into plastic lessens waste?

These wastes provide opportunities in the productions of other animal feeds. (i fish feed). Ethanol for energy generation and fertilizer for farmers. It's on record that some time ago a pig farm in Ondo State,Nigeria, piped pig waste through gas cylinders to generate energy for the community. Other domestic wastes can equally generate ethanol. Poultry waste as animal feed and fertilizer would require good cleaning, sorting and grinding to add value. With good packaging in plastic bags of various weights ranging from 1kg to 25kg and appropriate labeling, It would become an instant Wealth Spinner.
Waste to wealth sounds unbelievable but it's real. In India for instance, a lot has been achieved at community level by local women turning waste to instant wealth.
They have recycled papers to bags as substitute for plastic carry bags. They have used coconut shell to replace plastic for mugs, bowls, spoon, soap dishes, key chains, flower vases and so on.
They have recycled cloth, plant fibers, cardboard, cans and bottles to mention a few. Their involvement in waste management has given them an opportunity to become self-employed.
While you make your future earnings from salvaging the environment, you will be helping the community and the nation to get rid of unwanted wastes and also contributing to youth empowerment and better health of the citizenry.
Waste management is hot cake and a major source of wealth creation in any country especially Asia countries-India,and China. A lot of revenue is being generated through its processing.

Regular Exercise Promotes a Good Health

Regular Exercise Promotes a Good Health

Over the years all of us have been told there are benefits derivable from regular exercise; but most of us have received such information with cynicism. It is important that we find time to engage in activities that would promote both our physical, mental and spiritual well-being and never to shy away from them as doing so may negatively impact our health.

What are the Benefits of Exercise?
1- Feeling better: Exercise helps in coping with stress; and improves your image, and resistance to fatigue. It helps to counter anxiety and depression; helps you relax and feel less tired and improves the ability to fall asleep and sleep well.

2- Looking better: Regular physical activities tune your muscles, help your appetite and turn off excess calories to help shape your physique.

3- Improves your productivity: Regular physical activities help you to be more productive at work, issue you capacity for physical work and aid mental alertness.

Regular exercise condition your heart and lungs to relax more efficiently. When well conditioned, the heartbeats less frequently, but much more efficient at when rest. The heart of an average person beats a little less or within the range of 70 to 75 times every minute. Therefore, a conditioned heart beats about 36,000 less times per day, a saving of 13 million beats per year.
A conditioned heart thus suffers less wear and tear over years. In this way, exercise reduces the chance of suffering a heart attack. Feeling, looking, working better helps you to enjoy life more fully. Several scientific studies have shown that life is prolonged by regular exercise. The average life expectancy in people who exercise regularly is 8 to 15 years longer than in those who do not. Also, studies have shown that people who exercise are more likely to recover faster than those who do not when they suffer various diseases, including heart attack and bleeding.
Many of us believe that we get enough exercise from our daily activities and so do not require any more. This is rarely true. Very few jobs require vigorous activities these days (in our kind of setting) while I agree that activities like climbing stairs, walking, gardening, moderate to heavy house work can provide some benefit on the long run, more vigorous exercise conditions the heart and lungs to provide more consistent short and long term benefits.
Some general tips: If you have eaten a meal, avoid strenuous physical activity for at least 2 hours. If you exercise vigorously first, wait about 20 minutes before eating. If you run or jog, land on your heels rather than the balls of your feet. If you ride a bicycle out doors, always wear a helmet. Hard and uneven surfaces are more likely to cause injuries than soft, even surfaces. Any exercise at all is better than none at all.

Turning chicken feathers into plastic lessens waste

Turning chicken feathers into plastic lessens waste

US scientists have developed a method to turn chicken feathers into plastic products and are working on bringing the technology closer to the marketplace.

Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientist Walter Schmidt developed the technology to clean feathers and separate them into chopped fibres and quill pieces. Now Schmidt and fellow ARS chemist Justin Barone have developed and applied for a patent for a process to convert cleaned and chopped feather material into plastic products on a laboratory scale.

The feather-derived plastic can be moulded just like any other plastic and has properties very similar to commodity plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene. This makes the feather-derived plastic a unique material for packaging or any other application where high strength and biodegradability are desired.
The method could be a solution to the approximately four billion pounds of feathers which are generated each year during the poultry production process. This new application not only is a solution to an environmental problem, but also cost-effectively enhances the commercial and economic value of feathers.

Pathway to Prosperity is a Goal Setting to Acquire Money

What is Money and Wealth? Everybody wants money, some people are looking for money, everybody is crying for money. The richest businessmen are also looking for more and they cannot render help for needs. But amazingly, most people don’t know what money is. if you are looking for what you don’t know and how it looks like then how you will recognize it when you come across it. Therefore, you need to understand what money is. Please don’t ever think the paper in your hand or pocket is the money you are looking for, is just a paper with legal backup. From the point of view, money is defined as legal tender. Rich and wealthy people don’t just see money as a legal tender; they see it in a different perspective. For you to understand money’s principle and how to acquire it, we need to go back to the history and emergence of money. Before the money concept was invented, people were using trade by barter. For instance if you have tuber of Yam and you need chicken, you need to look for someone who will exchange your tuber of Yam for Chicken. With time that became difficult and complex which now brought about the paper money.

To Get Rich You Need To Know These Facts About Money
Money is a medium of exchange, it simply means you must have something of value to give or render that people are ready to pay for, if you want to get rich then look for something of value that people are willing and ready to pay you for. It can be a product that people are looking to solve their problems or it can be a talent or gift that God has given to you or the area of knowledge you have acquired either through formal or informal education.

Everyone has the right to be wealthy. Yet, most of us allow a temporary lack of money eat into our minds, literally confining us into the vicious cycle of poverty. One of the Law of Abundance states “People are poor because they have not yet decided to be rich”. So long as you manage a conscious decision to become wealthy and have utmost faith that you can achieve it, you act accordingly to what you believe. Say “Yes” to getting wealthy today! And say it with conviction. To acquire money you must involve yourself in desire products. For example, you can practice the following area:

·        Do online trading.
·        Choose the type of property to invest such as real estate property.
·        Buy a property at a lower price and sell it when the market goes up.
·        Invest in fixed deposit account and buy share.
·        Become a consultant in any field of specialization.
·        Get a good mentor who a financially mature and learn from them

Finally, you need to know that money is reward for solving a problem: they are many organizations/people/States with various degrees of problems and they are looking for someone who will evaluate it and solve it out for them. Don’t just sit at home blaming government for your unemployment, look around your neighbourhood and ask yourself for a problem you can solve that people are willing to pay you for.  Move in to part of the property and rent out a portion. Not only do you build equity, you might even have a positive cash flow to put towards your business. If you are employed don’t just continue acquiring liability in place of assets but look around for what you can invest your money into that can give you extra income, play the game by the rule, money will definitely follow you.

Simple Techniques of Raising a Rabbit for Table Food and Profitability

Simple Techniques of Raising a Rabbit for Table Food and Profitability

Rabbits are popular because they breed quickly and healthy doe can produce eight litters of six rabbits each year. That is about 90 kilograms of meat a year at an average of 2kg per rabbit. The meat, when cooked taste likes poultry meat. ‘’Rabbit Curry’’ and ‘’chicken curry’`  taste similar and Rabbits are a good source of low-fat protein.

It is essential to keep the buck and does in clean, dry, safe hutches before you begin breeding them. To breed a doe, put a female into the cage with the buck-male.  Mating is good especially early in morning or evening when it is cool. Watch her carefully to make sure she mates. It should take only two or three minutes. If she does not mate you can try again later. After she has mated, put her back in her own apartment.
Thirty-one days after mating, her litter will be born- ‘’Kindling’’ (the process of giving birth in rabbits). Three days before the baby rabbits are doe, give the mother a nest box where she can give birth. Put a litter soft, dry grass in the box and the mother will mix it with her own fur. There are usually six to ten (6-10) babies in litter. In some special breed cases, it is possible to find up to 12 babies. It is necessary to compare these with the nipple number on the doe. Once it is insufficiently less than that of the litter number, then it is best to ‘SHED’ i.e. reducing the babies in the litter so as to tally with the nipple number of the doe’s breast.
The baby rabbit will not open their eyes for about two weeks. Do not touch any of them, you will affect their body odor and the mother will not feed them. If you must touch them, rub your hands over the mothers first. That way, you will not change the odor of the young ones.
The rabbits will be ready to eat in only four months time. You can wean them at two months of age. When the baby rabbits are weaned, it is time to cross the doe again. Though mating can be carried out immediately after kindling because of their unique ovulation nature. Feed them for four more months and, when they weight two kilo (2kg), they are big enough to eat.
Feeding:  Rabbits eat almost anything and you can cut grass or gather weeds. If the forage is wet when you cut it, let it get dry for a few hours before using it. Otherwise the rabbits may contact diarrhea and may even die. Kitchen scraps, sweet potatoes vines, bread crusts, and carrot tops. It is important to note that Potato Tops are poisonous to rabbits and to most animals.
Compounded feeds in good rations are good for the rabbit. An example of Compounded feed ration is the Growers’ mash. It makes them to grow faster and stronger than when placed on grass alone. It is especially good for does producing milk.

Process of Putting in Your Resignation at any organization

Process of Putting in Your Resignation in any organization

Whether you've loved your job from day one of you've been digging an escape tunnel under you desk for the past three years, eventually the day arrives that you leave one job in pursuit of a new opportunity. How you leave a job, though, can be just as important as what you did while you were there: a bad exit can undo all of your hard work and even tarnish your professional reputation. Here's how to put in your resignation gracefully so you don't burn any bridges you may need down the road.

Tell Your Boss First
Most of us have a best friend at work, and if you're going to be leaving a company, it might be tempting to tell that person (and a few other favorite co-workers) that you're making an exit. But in case you haven't noticed, even the best, most professional offices tend to resemble high school cafeterias, complete with cliques, tattletales, and gossip that spreads like wildfire. Do yourself and your boss a favor and let him or her know before you tell anyone else. If word gets around that you're leaving before you have a chance to formally tell your superior, it could hurt your chances of getting a reference or recommendation.

Give Appropriate Notice
We all know that two weeks is the standard amount of time you're expected to give before you leave any position. But if you're in the middle of a major project, or if you're in an upper-level position that will take awhile to fill, additional notice will be greatly appreciated by your employers. For senior level positions, giving four to six weeks is a generous notice that will give your employers the lead time they need to start finding your replacement. If you're in the middle of a major initiative, try to see the project through to completion if possible.

Offer to Help Find Your Replacement
While it's certainly not required, offering to help find your replacement will be helpful to your employers and ensure you leave your position on good terms. After all, no one knows your position better than you, and by putting out some feelers to your professional, social and alumni networks, you may be able to find a great candidate for your job. If the match works, you've not only helped out your previous employer, but a business contact who may be able to turn around and help you in the future.

Document Everything
You might work in an office that has process documents and charted work flows for every assignment, which means your successor will have a road map for doing your job. If you're like most of us though, your day-to-day projects and duties may not be written out in a step-by-step, "how to" format. Take the time to create these documents before you leave your position, and then share them with your boss. If it's going to be awhile before they have someone to replace you, make sure that someone in your office knows how to do the daily, crucial aspects of your job that could stall your organization if they're not done correctly.

Write a Resignation Letter
If you're office doesn't have a set of formal HR policies, make sure to write a letter of resignation and give a copy of it to your boss and hiring manager to put in your file. While it may not seem necessary, especially if you have a good working relationship with your employers, this protects you in the future if anyone wants verification of why you left your position.
By following the steps above, you'll leave your employer in a good position to find your replacement, and yourself in a good position to get the recommendations and references you'll need for your next career move.

The moral Principle Governing the conduct of business leadership in Career Employment Strategies

The Moral Principle Governing the Conduct of Business Leadership in Career Employment Strategies

For many years, the business world has been asking higher education to meet their needs of developing future knowledge workers who are self-leaders that take responsibility for their actions and have solid decision making and problem solving skills. An article in the Newsweek's November 13, 2006 issue indicates that higher education has yet to hear this decades long message.
In this article, a recent graduate of an Ivy League School, shared her experiences that she lacked the fundamentals from completing a W-2 to how to rent an apartment. What was interesting was that she noted that she was not alone. According to her article, she referenced a recent study of career employment (source not cited) that hundreds of employers found new college graduates "woefully unprepared" for the job market.
For years education from K-13 has focused on learning or the acquisition of knowledge, but has miserably failed on performance or the application of knowledge. Universities or higher education continue this tradition and the 21st century is reaping the results - unprepared workers who are highly intelligent, but can't negotiate themselves out of a cardboard box.
The University of Michigan Annual Recruiting Trends has documented the needs of employers for over 30 years. In its 2002 report, employers want graduates who have a passion for the position along with a total package including:
  • Verbal communication skills
  • Written communication skills
  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Computer skills
  • Work ethics
  • Integrity
Dr. Carol Di-Amico in her research Workforce 2020 indicated that employers looked for the following when hiring experienced workers:
·  Leadership 73%
·  Problem solving skills 69%
·  Moral value 68%
·  Job specific skills 61%
·  Creativity 60%
·  Organizational skills 49%
·  Interpersonal skills 45%
Given that many employers are looking for skill sets that are not currently being taught at the higher academic levels and probably not at the high school levels for those not immediately attending college suggests that these institutions of learning are indeed setting many young people up to fail. This would not be such a tragedy if they were not collecting thousands of dollars.
Finally, the author of this article in Newsweek believed that she invested her dollars to better advance her thinking abilities. She further wrote that her thinking was limited to the academic world and failed to transfer into the real world. Yet, it is those same professors in the academic world who insist that those in the business world where profits and losses are both earned and measured on a daily basis do not understand how to think and that education cannot be viewed as a business. This attitude is great if you are not accountable for securing results. Until education realizes its purpose is to successfully complete the next learning sequence (that means the graduates are gainfully employed in their field of expertise for at least one year) where personal and business leadership is highly developed along with all those interpersonal skills necessary for success, this young person's experience will be multiplied by thousands more and our nation will continue to suffer.
